The Legend Has Retired, engraved with their name and the year.
- Engraved with The Legend Has Retired, plus the name and year you enter
- Premium walnut or maple, in four shapes including two with a drip ring
- Permanent engraving with a frosted, tone-on-tone finish that will not wear off
- Sized for serving and light prep, from a small 9 by 6 to a 13.5 inch paddle
- Hand wash only, so the wood and the engraving both last
Retirement gifts have a habit of going in a drawer. A board does not. It comes out when the family is over, gets loaded with cheese and crackers, and sits in the middle of the table where somebody always reads it. That is the difference between a keepsake and something that gets used, and this manages both.
The engraving is cut into the wood rather than printed on it, so it darkens into the grain and stays there. Walnut gives you a deep brown with a lot of character. Maple is paler and lets the lettering stand out more sharply. The two shapes with a drip ring have a shallow channel cut around the edge to catch juices, which is worth having if it will be used for carving as well as serving.
How to Personalize
- Choose the board shape and the wood color.
- Enter the name exactly as you would like it engraved.
- Enter the retirement year, for example 2026.
- Check the spelling and the year, then add the board to your cart.
The Legend Has Retired is part of the design and is engraved on every board. Your name and year are cut exactly as you enter them, and engraving is permanent, so please check both carefully before ordering.
